Another senior member of the Christian Brothers has raised doubts about the truth of some of the complaints made to the Commission to Enquire into Child Abuse.

Another senior member of the Christian Brothers has raised doubts about the truth of some of the complaints made to the Commission to Enquire into Child Abuse.

Brother Michael Reynolds said the Order doubted that all 449 abuse claims lodged against it were genuine and they had lodged objections to two of them.

He said he had heard of at least two complainants who had said in private hearings that they were lodging abuse complaints in order to get compensation.

Yesterday the Order claimed some of the evidence given about incidents at Letterfrack Industrial School in Co. Galway was tainted and motivated by the hope of getting compensation.
