AG orders fresh inquiry into death of Frances Sheridan
The Attorney General has ordered a fresh inquiry in to the death of Frances Sheridan, who died three weeks after having an appendix operation in Cavan General Hospital in 2004.
An inquest carried out last December attributed the nine-year-old’s death to natural causes, despite a suggestion by the coroner that such a verdict would not be appropriate.
Her family have welcomed the inquiry, saying they hope it will provide them with the opportunity to find out what really happened to Frances.
