Minister for Transport Martin Cullen is holding talks with officials from the Swedish government today to get tips on road safety.

A report published this week listed Sweden as one of the best countries in Europe at enforcing road safety.

The country is developing a satellite positioning system to check speeds and control a car's brakes if it goes over the limit.

Speaking ahead of this morning's talks in Dublin, Mr Cullen said: "These are times when we have to bring forward the best practice and pursuit of excellence in terms of our approach to road safety in this country."
