Gardaí arrest second man in connection with Coolock shooting

A second man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in Coolock last night.

The 21-year-old man was shot a number of times when he answered a knock on his door just before midnight in Kilmore on the city's northside.

A 19-year-old man was arrested in the Cromcastle area of Coolock at 3.45pm.

He is being held at Whitehall Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. He can be held for up to 72 hours for questioning before being charged.

A 17-year-old youth is also in custody in Santry after being arrested earlier today.
