Education Minister announces 40 new schools

The Minister for Education Mary Hanafin today gave the go-ahead for 40 new schools to be constructed around the country.

36 primary schools and four secondary schools will now proceed to tender, and then construction stage.

Work on the buildings is to begin on a rolling basis over the next 12 to 15 months.

Today’s announcement follows fifteen school building projects already announced earlier this year.
