Teenage pedestrian seriously injured in south Dublin

A 16-year-old youth was in a serious condition in hospital last night after he was knocked down in Dublin.

The unnamed male pedestrian was struck by a car on Booterstown Avenue in the south of the city around 11.30pm.

He was taken to St Vincent's hospital for treatment.

Gardaí investigating the incident sealed the area off for technical examination.
