Murder investigations underway in Waterford and Cork
Two separate murder investigations are underway in Waterford and Cork this morning following the discovery of bodies in both cities yesterday morning.
Gardaí in Waterford launched a murder investigation last night following the results of a post mortem carried out on the body of a man found dead in the city on Saturday morning.
The unnamed man, who is believed to be 60 years of age, was found in a flat on Henrietta street and is believed to have been dead for some time.
Meanwhile, gardaí are still holding one man for questioning in relation to the suspicious death of another man in Cork city yesterday.
The 22-year-old was discovered in a flat on Wellington Road near the city centre at 10am.
The Garda inquiry into that incident was upgraded to a murder investigation following the results of a post-mortem carried out in Cork late last night.
