Young man dies in Louth crash

A man in his 20s has died in an overnight car crash in the Co Louth village of Annagassan.

The man was a passenger in a car that went out of control and crashed on Strand Road at around 10pm last night.

The driver of the car was also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

The accident was the second fatal road crash in Co Louth in the past 24 hours.

A pedestrian in his 70s died at around 3.30pm yesterday when he was hit by a car on the Drogheda to Baltray road.
