Helicopter destroyed in Galway fire

A helicopter has been destroyed and two others badly damaged in a fire at a hangar in Oranmore, Co Galway.

Fire brigade units from Tuam, Athenry, Loughrea and Galway city fought the blaze for several hours at the premises of Executive Helicopters.

The alarm was raised shortly before 7am today.

The scene is being preserved as gardaí carry out forensic examinations.
