Police open fire on motorist

Police in west Belfast today opened fire on a motorist who drove his car at them.

Officers on foot patrol on Glen Road approached the black 2006 model Volkswagen Golf, registration GEZ 4234, at 11am.

The driver of the Golf drove at officers, who then discharged a number of shots. The incident has been referred to the police ombudsman
