Survey finds 82% of car seats are not fitted properly

A survey commissioned by the National Safety Council has reportedly found that more than 80% of child car seats in Ireland are not fitted properly.

A survey commissioned by the National Safety Council has reportedly found that more than 80% of child car seats in Ireland are not fitted properly.

Reports this morning said the study of almost 1,000 cars found that 29% of car seats needed major adjustments to make them safe, while 16% were incompatible with either the child or the car.

Almost one-in-10 were also reportedly deemed to be totally unsuitable, whie only 18% were found to be safe.
