US pharmaceutical firm to create 155 jobs in Donegal

A US pharmaceutical firm is planning to create 155 jobs at the former Hospira plant in Donegal town.

Last August, Hospira announced plans to close the plant within 18 months, with the loss of more than 550 jobs.

The Abbott Group is now planning to take over the facility following that closure as part of a €36m investment backed by the IDA.

The company plans to use the factory to manufacture care products for diabetes sufferers.
