Hospital security staff to strike over job displacement

Security staff at Waterford Regional Hospital are due to mount strike action today to protest against the alleged displacement of their jobs.

SIPTU, which represents the workers, says management at the hospital has hired a new company to oversee security in a move that will see the existing staff lose their jobs to lower-paid employees.
