Two sought over assault
Gardaí were tonight searching for two men as part of their investigation into a serious assault in south Dublin.
A 20-year-old man from Dun Laoghaire remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital due to the head injuries he received in the attack.
The man was socialising with friends in the town on St Patrick’s Day but was attacked after 3am at Corrig Avenue near the junction with Main Street.
Gardaí are seeking to interview a taxi driver who picked up two men at Glenageary Rd Lower between 3.15am and 03.45am on the night.
“The brown/wine taxi then drove to the Shanganagh Cliffs area of Shankill and both men possibly went into a house in Shankill,” said a Garda spokeswoman.
The scene of the assault was preserved for technical examination.
Anyone with information can contact Dun Laoghaire Garda Station on 01 6665000.
