A Labour Party councillor has accused the local authorities in Dublin of blatantly breaching regulations on the dumping of sludge.

A Labour Party councillor has accused the local authorities in Dublin of blatantly breaching regulations on the dumping of sludge.

Kevin Humphries claimed today that sewage with a high metal content from the controversial Ringsend water treatment plan was being spread on farmland near Tullow in Co Carlow.

He claimed the spreading of sludge was not being carried out in compliance with regulations laid down by the Environmental Protection Agency.
