Police still questioning 17 after raid on UDA meeting

Police in the North are still questioning 17 men after they stormed a Belfast bar in a loyalist part of the city last night.

The police said the operation, where CS gas pellets were used, targeted the leadership of the UDA in north Belfast.

Detective Superintendent Roy McComb explained that the police had advance knowledge of a plan to stage a dress rehearsal last night of a UDA paramilitary display of strength, which was due to take place over the weekend.
