87-year-old man killed in Offaly road accident

An 87-year-old man has died in a collision between his car and another vehicle near Birr in Co Offaly.

The crash happened on Monday, but gardaí only released details today.

The dead man, who has been named as John Scully, was seriously injured in the accident and died a short time later at Tullamore Hospital.
