Freezing temperatures set to last for another week

Met Éireann is predicting that the cold snap currently gripping the country with sub-zero temperatures will last for at least another week.

Motorists are being warned to take extra care on the roads as a result of the freezing conditions, with snow and ice expected to hit many parts of the country.

Northern areas are expected to be worst affected by the weather.

Forecasters believe the cold snap will continue throughout this week and the coming weekend before any improvement in temperatures takes hold.
