McDowell: Garda report on rally violence will be conducted
The Minister for Justice says there will be an inquiry into the violence that erupted in Dublin yesterday.
Michael McDowell wants a full-scale investigation into the events that led to the rioting at the 'Love Ulster' march which left 14 people injured.
Forty-one people were arrested.
“I’m expecting a full report from the Commissioner firstly for briefing the Cabinet on Tuesday,” Minister McDowell said.
“But there will be a longer-term report as well [as to] who the real perpetrators were, what the preparations were, who orchestrated the petrol bombs and all of that,” he said.
“That will take some time and there will be prosecutions, I believe,” he added.
