Dun Laoghaire coastguard searching for missing man

A search is underway off the coast of Dublin for a man seen walking into the sea in the early hours of this morning.

The Irish coastguard is searching for the man, who was last seen at the 40-foot at Sandycove.

The alarm was raised when a phone call was made to the Coastguard from a phone box in Dun Laoghaire at about 4.30am

Dun Laoghaire Lifeboat, the Irish Coastguard Helicopter from Dublin and the Dun Laoghaire Coastguard Unit have carried out an extensive search but so far have found no trace of the missing man.

The search is still underway.
