Couple rescued from Kerry mountain
A couple were rescued on the Macgillycuddy Reeks mountain range in Co Kerry last night.
The man and woman, who are reportedly from Wicklow, raised the alarm yesterday afternoon by mobile phone after losing their way.
Members of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team were unable to re-establish contact with them by telephone as the couple had moved into an area with no mobile coverage.
The search was concentrated on Caher Mountain, west of Carrantuohill, where temperatures were running close to freezing, although it was dry.
A rescue team of up to 20 people located the couple safe and well around 11.30pm.
