Young man dies following shooting incident in Dublin

A man has died following a shooting in Dublin last night.

A young man suffered gunshot wounds when he was set upon in the Whitestown Park area of Blanchardstown at around 9:30 pm.

He was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly after 11 o'clock last night.

A post mortem is to be carried out.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown in Dublin are investigating the incident.
