Pedestrian killed in Galway road accident

Gardaí are investigating a road accident in which a pedestrian was killed in Co Galway this morning.

62-year-old Michael Farrell was hit by a car at Laurencetown in Ballinasloe just after 2am.

Mr Farrell, from Laurencetown, died at the scene.

A post mortem will take place on Monday.
