A 16-year-old boy is due to appear in court in Kildare today after being charged with murdering a young woman at her home in Celbridge earlier this week.

Rebecca Kinsella's body was found by her mother in the living room of the family home in Grattan Court on Tuesday night.

The 19-year-old is believed to have been beaten and stabbed to death while her parents were out of the house.

The boy charged with her murder is believed to have been in the house when the body was found.

Reports this morning said he was found to have taken prescription medication and was taken to hospital in Dublin, where he was kept for observation overnight before being arrested and charged yesterday.
