The Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, has said he's not aware of reports that the Gardaí will relax the laws on the possession of small amounts of cannabis.

A newspaper claimed today that Superintendents will be directed not to charge people with tiny portions of the drug, but to caution them instead.
