British rowers rescued from life-raft in mid-Atlantic

Two more rowers have had to be rescued from the ocean after getting into difficulties while approaching the finishing line in the Atlantic Rowing Race.

British pair Bob Warren and Chris Barrett were just 200 miles from the end of the 2,550-mile challenge when they sent out a distress signal yesterday.

A full-scale search was launched and the pair were spotted clinging to a life-raft at around 10.30pm Irish time last night.

Earlier this month, Irish rowers Gearóid Towey and Ciaran Lewis were also rescued from a life-raft after their boat capsized during the race, which began in the Canary Islands last November.
