Man stabbed by masked duo in Leixlip

A man in his 40s is recovering in hospital today after being stabbed outside his home in Co Kildare this morning.

The man is understood to have been attacked by two men wearing balaclavas in the Ryevale Lawns area of Leixlip at around 9am, as he was preparing to bring his children to school.

The attackers fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.

The victim was taken to the Connolly Hospital in Dublin, where he is currently recovering from his injuries.

The motive for the stabbing is unclear.
