Gardaí investigate death of man in Carlow town

Gardaí in Cavan are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in the town this morning.

The man, who was in his 50s, was found dead in a flat on Connolly Street at around 7am.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and a post mortem is due to be carried out later today to determine the cause of death.

Gardaí said there were no obvious injuries on the body, but they could not rule out foul play until the post mortem had been completed.
