Gardaí still searching for missing Alzheimer’s sufferer

Gardaí in Co Wicklow are continuing to search for an elderly Alzheimer's sufferer who has been missing from a nursing home in Bray for five days.

Seventy-eight-year-old Maura Reynolds, who also has cancer of the spine, was last seen in the early hours of St Stephen's Day at the Tara Nursing Home.

Her family believe she may have got dressed during the night and let herself out through a kitchen door at the home.

They are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare as she is frail and incapable of looking after herself.

A major search involving Gardaí, the Coastguard and local volunteers is due to resume at first light this morning.
