Woman killed in Ballina crash

A 75 year-old woman has been killed in a road accident in Ballina, Co Mayo.

The woman, a pedestrian, was fatally injured when she was struck by a car at the Bunree Road in the town at 9.15pm on Christmas Eve.

She was taken to Castlebar Hospital where she died from her injuries.
