Gardaí still seeking motive for armed mail van robbery

Gardaí are still trying to establish a motive for the robbery of a mail van yesterday by armed men dressed as members of the force.

The Royal Mail van was travelling from Belfast to Dublin when it was flagged down near Drogheda in Co Louth yesterday morning by a four-man gang dressed in what appeared to be garda uniforms.
