Tip-off triggers €1.25m ecstasy haul at Rosslare Port

Ecstasy with a street value of almost €1.25m was seized at Rosslare Port this afternoon following a tip-off.

Ecstasy with a street value of almost €1.25m was seized at Rosslare Port this afternoon following a tip-off.

Customs officers using a sniffer dog found 123,000 ecstasy tablets hidden in the side panels of a Dutch-registered car, which arrived on the ferry from Cherbourg in France.

Two Dutch nationals, a man and a woman in their early twenties, were arrested and are being held at Wexford Garda Station.

It is believed the drugs were destined for the Dublin market.
