Motorists who break the law in Co Mayo could soon be ordered to attend a driving school set up by the local county council.

Motorists who break the law in Co Mayo could soon be ordered to attend a driving school set up by the local county council.

A leading judge in the county, Mary Devins, has agreed to consider sending drivers who commit specific offences to the Driver Improvement Programme established by Mayo County Council.

The school has been set up in an effort to reduce the level of road accidents in the county.
