Traveller appeals murder conviction
A new-age traveller who received a life-sentence for murdering a Portuguese man in Co. Waterford is appealing his conviction.
30-year-old Stuart Spicer from Ballyquinn was convicted of beating Sergio Abru to death at a caravan park in Clashanahy two years ago.
Two other men were convicted of the manslaughter of Mr. Abru, who was killed during a row over how he treated his girlfriend.
Mr Spicer's lawyers have claimed the defence of provocation should have been put to the jury during the trial.
