Doctors should have Regular 'standards' reviews

Doctors need to be reviewed on a regular basis to show they are practising medicine properly, it was demanded today as a report showed complaints against the medical profession were on the rise.

Dr John Hillery, president of the Ireland Medical Council, called for procedures to monitor all practitioners to ensure they were meeting professional standards.
