Christmas shoppers warned over forged banknotes

Consumers should be extra vigilant of being passed counterfeit banknotes in the run up to Christmas, the Central Bank warned today.

As shops enter their busiest season, the bank said around €13bn has been issued with 22% more money in circulation than this time last year.
