State Pathologist arrives in Ballymun to examine body

Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis has arrived at the scene in north Dublin where a man was found dead early today.

Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis has arrived at the scene in north Dublin where a man was found dead early today.

Dr Curtis is due to carry out a post mortem on the body of the 28-year-old today.

The man, who has not yet been formally identified, was found in the stairwell of a flat complex on Shangan Road in Ballymun early this morning.

Gardaí said that he had head wounds, but they were not sure whether he had been shot.

The body is still at the scene, which is sealed off as forensic teams carry out their examination.
