McDowell reports progress in padded cell initiative

Justice Minister Michael McDowell has reported steady progress in his €4m plan to install 33 modern padded cells in Irish prisons.

Mr McDowell said today that 20 new special observation cells had been installed nationwide and the other 13 would be completed within six weeks.
