Support for Fianna Fáil is slipping, according to two opinion polls published today.

A poll in the Sunday Tribune indicated that the party's popularity is down 4%, while Fine Gael are up five percentage points.

Another survey, in the Sunday Business Post, showed gains for Fine Gael and the Labour Party, who are up by 1%.

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte said this afternoon that the polls showed that there were two potential governments for after the next election, with the proposed Fine-Gael/Labour coalition now now having a ‘slight edge’ as the people’s preference over the current government.
