A Garda has been injured in County Clare after his patrol car was rammed by a vehicle that was suspected of being stolen.
Gardaí received a call at about lunchtime reporting a vehicle being driven by someone acting suspiciously near Newmarket-on-Fergus.
When a patrol car tried to stop the vehicle at the Dromoland Interchange it was rammed.
One of the Gardaí in the patrol car sustained an injury to his leg.
A short time later the car, which is thought to have been stolen, was found ablaze about two miles away.
The occupants of the vehicle had tried to get away through nearby fields but two men and a woman were arrested following a search by Gardaí.
