Two dead after overnight road accidents

Two people are dead after they were struck by a car in Ardee Co Louth last night.

A man, and a woman, both in their mid fifties were killed shortly after 1.30 this morning on Tierney Street in the town.

A nineteen year old man was arrested and taken to Drogheda garda station following the incident and has now been released.
