The return of George Best's body to the North could be delayed, according to the soccer legend's agent.

Phil Hughes was originally planning to fly the 59-year-old's remains from London to Belfast on Wednesday.

However, he said today that this may be changed due to concerns that fans trying to pay their last respects could bring the city to a halt.

Best is due to be buried alongside his mother at Roselawn Cemetery on Saturday after a funeral at parliament buildings in Stormont.

Thousands of mourners are expected to line the route from the footballer's family home in the east of the city to the Stormont estate.
