Two boys killed in Dublin caravan fire

A travelling community in the Clondalkin area of Dublin is this morning coming to terms with the tragic death of two young boys in a caravan fire yesterday afternoon.

Michael and Joe McGinley died when their caravan was engulfed by flames at a halting site in Oldcastle Park on the Nagor Road shortly after 2pm.

The elder of the two youngsters would have been three years old today, while the younger was 18 months old.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but reports this morning suggested a heater may have been responsible.

The victims are survived by their five-year-old sister and their parents, who are both in their 20s.
