Safety chief's resignation 'damns the Govt'

The resignation of the chairman of the National Safety Council represented “a damning vote of no confidence” in the Minister of Transport, Martin Cullen, it was claimed today.

Eddie Shaw quit the post he had held for six years in a letter to Mr Cullen in mid week. A meeting with the minister on Thursday did nothing to change his mind.
