President admitted to hospital with infection

President Mary McAleese was admitted to hospital yesterday with an infection, it emerged tonight.

A spokesperson said Mrs McAleese attended the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin after feeling unwell for a number of days, but is due to be discharged tomorrow.
