A 36-year-old Co Louth man wanted in connection with the death of his wife in Marbella more than five years ago has been handed over the Spanish authorities.

A 36-year-old Co Louth man wanted in connection with the death of his wife in Marbella more than five years ago has been handed over the Spanish authorities.

Dermot McArdle, from Heynestown in Dundalk, is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of his wife Kelly Ann in February 2000.

The 28-year-old died after falling from a hotel balcony.

Mr McArdle lost a Supreme Court appeal against his extradition to Spain in connection with the case last week.
