A 56-year-old County Monaghan man was been awarded €273,000 in damages this afternoon in a High Court action against his former school teacher, who is also a former GAA Ulster Council secretary.

A 56-year-old County Monaghan man was been awarded €273,000 in damages this afternoon in a High Court action against his former school teacher, who is also a former GAA Ulster Council secretary.

Michael Feeney, aged 73, from Ballybay, Co. Monaghan pleaded guilty in November 2000 to charges of sexual abuse and was jailed for three years.
