Record number of Junior Cert rechecks

A record number of Junior Certificate students have appealed their results this year.

The Exam Commission was asked to recheck more than 2,100 papers. That is only a fraction of the 500,000 papers marked following the 2005 exams, but it represents a rise of 12% on the 2004 figure.
