Co Down man charged with £26.5m Belfast bank heist
A 23-year old Co Down man has appeared in court charged with involvement in last year's £26.5m (€39m) bank heist in Belfast.
Dominic McEvoy, from Kilcoo, is accused of robbery, possession of a firearm or imitation weapon and falsely imprisoning a bank worker and his wife at their home in Loughinisland, Co Down.
The couple were held hostage during the raid along with another bank official and his family.
A PSNI witness said the accused had denied any involvement in last December's robbery during interrogation in the last few days.
The court heard that Mr McEvoy's DNA was allegedly found on a hat at the home of the Loughinisland hostages.
