Primary school children will soon be studying the national curriculum on the worldwide web, it was revealed today.

The Government and private sector have joined forces in a project to post subjects online.

'Teachnet' will train 50 teachers in web-technology to develop material for schools everywhere.

Citigroup chief executive Aidan Brady said Ireland was still behind other countries in knowledge and usage of the internet: “We need to improve the culture right across our education system, and the best place to start is at the earliest stage, with children and of course teachers,” he said.
